The Bacon's Rebellion all started with the indentured servitude. Men and Woman came to work as indentured servants in Virginia. They signed contracts that said they would serve a certain number of years, and do anything they were told to do, They were provided with shelter, food, and clothes. After their time was up, they were set free. They got corn and land. Well, as you know there is only so much land on these plantation, so some people that were promised land, did not get any. They and nowhere to go. They traveled to the frontier. They were attacked by Indians, and the government would not help them fight back. The government was also trading with the Indians. The government gave them guns and ammunition, and in return they got beaver and otter pellets. The people were not happy with this because the government was also collecting taxes. They decided to rebel and it was called The Bacon's Rebellion, because they were lead by Nathaniel Bacon Jr. During the revolt he got sick and died. There were some negative things that happened due to the rebellion. One of those things were the hate towards Africans. There were also some good things like taxes being lowered.
